Toxicology and Regulatory Training Made Easy

One of the problems I encountered during my corporate days was trying to find a training course that covered my specific needs. This would take quite a lot of time unless I happened to strike lucky on my first few attempts. Unfortunately this was seldom the case and if I did actually find a suitable course then I would invariably find that the course only covered a small part of what I was interested in. This meant that when I factored in the cost of attending (including time out of the office, travel and the fee), training courses could often be poor value for money.

One of the things I wished that I’d been aware of back then was the concept of hosting courses. The idea behind this is that I would host the course that covered all the areas of interest to my company, and invite other companies from within the same industry sector to attend. As I had quite a few contacts from the trade associations and other external meetings I used to attend that would not have been a problem; especially since the issues I faced were invariably similar to those experienced by other companies.

A fee would then be charged for each of the company participants that would cover the cost of the course and, depending on the number of attendees could even generate some profit. This would have meant that I would have received the exact training that I needed at a fraction of the cost (and possibly at a profit). In addition my company would have earned kudos from arranging this kind of event.

I wish I had thought about this earlier!

If you are interested in hosting me in this way then all you need to do is the following

1. Identify your training needs.
2. Contact me to discuss these needs.
3. Contact other companies to see if they would be interested in attending such a course (with possibly adjustments to include any specific areas of interest to them).
4. Organise a training room and date.
5. Set a fee for each of the attendees.

The Benefits

1. You will obtain the training you need by experts in the field.
2. The cost of the training is either in part or completely covered by the other attendees. (You may even make a profit which, considering health and safety/regulatory issues are always considered a cost to the business is rather appealing.)
3. The company would benefit from the kudos of arranging this kind of training, and making it available to other businesses.

No Course, No Fee

If you find that there are no other companies interested in attending the course, the date can be cancelled, re-arranged or re-negotiated. Alternatively you may like to consider another form of training which is outlined below.

In-House “Hands On” Training Programmes

In addition to large conference style training, I also offer specific in house training programmes where I work either on a 1-1 basis, or in small groups as required. This kind of training is carefully tailored to the needs of the individual participants and is designed to deal with specific issues that arise within your workplace. As an example, I could run a three module course on Toxicology, Safety Data Sheets and Handling Chemicals in the workplace in such a way that participants can attend at different times of the day. In between the modules I would then be available to work on a 1-1 basis to assist with specific issues or as required.

My objective is always to ensure that the participants leave with the ability to apply the knowledge/skills that have been learned directly in their work. This means that the training course I run are very much what I call “hands on”.

Easy!

So, if you are interested in this style of training, please contact me, Laura Robinson, for a hassle free discussion.
